Training
Chief Operating Officer, Jacques Jordaan, is a qualified PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) A Grade Security Instructor, and plays a key role in ensuring that we stay well ahead of technological and human resources developments in the sector.
Staff are trained in specifically selected areas, relevant to regional security environments. For example, staff operating in a specific area will be familiar with all routes, road closures, road names and residents.
All training, evaluation and recruitment activities are conducted in accordance with the policies of PSIRA. To ensure customer safety and to avoid any potential decline in our standards, we re-train our existing staff at least twice a year.
All personnel receive thorough and ongoing training, including:
- Firearm competency
- Fitness competency
- Customer care
- Apprehension of suspects / criminals
All security personnel are fully equipped with:
- Firearms
- Bullet proof vests
- Torches
- Handcuffs
- Hand-held 2 way radio
Vehicles
All patrol vehicles are fitted with, a live, state-of-the-art vehicle tracking system, which is monitored 'in-house' via the Control Room. This means that any vehicle leaving its demarcated area will automatically create an alarm condition, via the tracking system, to which the control room can react immediately.
Our back-up vehicles ensure that the vehicle compliment will never decrease, even in the case of repairs or accidents.
Recruitment Information
Entry into the company is subject to stringent requirements. A strict staff selection policy, is borne out of concern for, inter alia, client safety. These rules also apply to the internal recruitment of current staff.
To ensure that we are able to secure the "right person for the right position", staff must meet the following basic employment criteria:
| LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY | All candidates are required to meet certain written and oral language standards and to demonstrate their proficiency in written and spoken English. |
| EDUCATION | Candidates are required to have a minimum Matric qualification. |
| P.S.I.R.A VALIDATION AND REGISTRATION | Employment contracts are only formalised once a PSIRA clearance has been obtained. A minimum B Grade PSIRA registration is required, including the Armed Reaction Training module. |
| VALID DOCUMENTATION | Recruits must be in possession of a valid South African Identity Document. |
| PERSONAL HYGIENE AND APPEARANCE | Recruits must meet exacting standards pertaining to personal health, fitness, hygiene and personal appearance. |
| COMPREHENSIVE SKILLS AND INITIATIVE | Potential candidates are required to display comprehension skills and general initiative in a variety of simulated test situations. |
